Here's how it works: you book the truck at its day rate, then choose the lights that ride out with it. Take a lean two-light LED kit or load the truck with HMI and tungsten — each fixture is a line item on your quote, so you're paying for what your shoot actually uses. Tell us what you're lighting and we'll walk the inventory with you, or hand us the gaffer's list and we'll price it out.

HOW PRODUCTIONS USE IT
Interview and corporate crews build clean two-light and three-light kits from the LED shelf — bi-color, battery-capable, fast to rig. Commercial work leans on the HMIs when daylight needs matching or overpowering, with the M18 and 4Ks doing the heavy lifting. Narrative and studio shoots still ask for tungsten, and the full Mole-and-Arri package is here for them. And everything can roll out on a grip truck with a Photon gaffer — lights, grip, power, and the person who runs it all, on one booking.

You book the truck at its posted day rate, and the lights you choose are quoted as add-ons on top of it. That keeps you in control of the kit and the cost — a small interview package and a full commercial load are very different quotes. Send us your list or describe the shoot and we'll price it out.

Our lighting goes out on our trucks — every package rides on a Photon grip truck with a Photon gaffer, so the lights arrive with the grip, power, and crew knowledge to run them. We don't offer standalone lighting pickup. If your shoot needs lights, the booking starts with the truck — and the 1-ton makes that easy even for small interview days.

On the truck. Lighting is spec'd into your grip truck booking and travels with it — driven to your location by your Photon gaffer, with mileage billed at $2.10/mile from our Richmond base. No pickup counter, no separate lighting delivery to coordinate: one truck arrives with everything.

We stock 7,000W and 2,000W Honda generators with distro, plus stingers and dimmers — enough to run the package we send anywhere you can park. Tell us the location situation when you request a quote and we'll spec the power with the lights.

We require a certificate of insurance covering the rented equipment, naming Photon Grip & Electric as additionally insured. Most production insurance policies handle this in a quick email with your broker. Booking without production insurance? Contact us and we'll talk through options.
