Twenty Years on the Rig
I've been operating in Virginia and beyond for over two decades — Steadicam and conventional camera operating on features, episodic television, commercials, and branded content. Among many credits, I've operated Steadicam for ASC cinematographers Thomas Ackerman and Frank Prinzi.
I own and operate a full GPI Pro package: a rig that carries up to 45 pounds, low mode, wireless FIZ, monitors, batteries, and the mounts that turn a Steadicam day into a whole-day solution — dolly hard mount, India car mount, and a Rickshaw for the long moves. It's a package built to keep working when the shot changes.
Operator and rig are booked together as separate line items, standard for Steadicam work. And because Photon is a grip, lighting, and crew company, a Steadicam day can arrive with everything else the shoot needs on the same call.

The Shots This Package Gets
Narrative crews book Steadicam for the moves that carry a scene — walk-and-talks, follows through practical locations, stair and corridor work that no dolly track survives. Commercial and branded work uses it for the fluid single-take spot and product moves that need to feel effortless. Documentary and event crews use it because the rig goes where the story goes. And with the dolly hard mount, India car mount, and Rickshaw in the package, a Steadicam day doesn't stop at handheld: the same rig covers vehicle work, track moves, and long pushes without renting three more solutions.

A GPI Pro package — carrying camera builds up to 45 pounds, with low mode, wireless FIZ, monitors, and a full battery package. I own it and operate it.

Yes — the package includes a dolly hard mount, an India car mount for vehicle shots, and a Rickshaw for extended moves. That means one booking covers Steadicam, car work, and track moves instead of three separate rentals.

Operator and rig are booked as separate line items, which is standard for Steadicam. Tell us the shoot — day length, camera package, what the day needs — when you request a quote and we'll get you numbers.

That's the advantage of booking through Photon. Trucks, lighting, power, and crew are all part of the same conversation — one call covers the Steadicam day and everything supporting it.
